while i don’t think it could fully capture the charm of its predecessor, ruthless vows was a great story and tied up iris and roman’s story quite nicely while maintaining the stakes and tension that had been established in book one!

trust me when i say this - push through the beginning. it’s slow, it’s a bit confusing, but it gets so good after it picks up around 1/4 of the way in. 😌

i didn’t know what i was getting into with this one, and it was slow at first, but it VERY quickly drew me in with the mystery of the story and charm of the main character, gemma. she’s genuinely hilarious.

unwind should be standard reading in english classes but in the current political climate it would be banned.
it’s so refreshing to see an author include guided reading materials for students because these are the exact questions they need to be learning to think about!!

something about reading exactly how roland gets unwound has me really fucked up. he was just a kid. troubled, but a kid. i’ve been around troubled kids my whole life and i work with them now and i just… can’t imagine putting them through this.
