ooh wow, i don't bruise easily for having eds, but i'm very very pale so once i do it's entertainingly colorful. i'd be so many colors from all of that lmao

thank you! some of those i know i tolerate well, some i will look into! also thank you for the albuterol interaction info, herb/med info can be really difficult to find. and i doubt the taste will top the mugwort/passionflower bedtime tea i quite literally choked down for a while, haha
January 12, 2026 at 11:15 PM
oooh, may i ask for details? i put a bit of plantain (herb not fruit lol) in my daily peppermint tea but i *know* i'm missing something
January 12, 2026 at 9:55 PM
😂😭! this is only tangentially related but i got reminded of how i used to stretch out my inner upper arm skin as a bar trick, and then wonder the next day where those little deep purple bruises kept coming from

i also also have a collection of stone and steel baoding balls (which are my preferred hand/wrist/etc. to down my ribcage exercise tool), and they're surprisingly helpful for massage!! i do love the dual-sided sex toy/massage tool that works better as a massage tool/sex toy thing haha
January 12, 2026 at 9:52 PM
oh yeah my partner found exploring my traps and the surrounding areas very distressing and confusing when they first moved in with me, especially compared to the rest of me which has that eds-er how-are-you-soft-like-that-???-ness
January 12, 2026 at 9:30 PM
this is absolutely a case where i know that i know enough to be scared, and not enough to protect myself, so i'm kind of just always making this face 😬 at the subject of chiros, esp as someone with a somewhat unstable neck
January 12, 2026 at 9:23 PM
i want both a chirp wheel and one of these guys so badly (although i suspect my wrist wouldn't like being used the way i'd like to) but for now i have a tennis ball, spiky plastic peanut shaped ball,,, and a steel bodywork tool bought for other uses that's better used as a thai massage stick, lmao
January 12, 2026 at 9:22 PM
that fucking coathanger area is always doing *something*!!!! goddammit!!
January 12, 2026 at 9:15 PM
they're always like 'for many people it's one of the most efficient and effective techniques! save it as a last resort!!' and i'm left baffled. you mean i can take sharper pain for less time instead of the forever dull-then-sharp and that's the nuclear option? how??
January 12, 2026 at 9:12 PM
than with flesh-on-flesh, i'll just keep trying to be careful. also you just clunked *several* pieces into place for me as to why i like trigger point massage as a modality and why i've been so confused by all of the teaching materials that talk about how much most people dislike it, thank you lmao
January 12, 2026 at 9:10 PM
my pens are my absolute favorite bodywork tool, although i had to break my 'never used temu' streak to buy my favorite one. even with hand/wrist exercises/therapy i can't get through the knots before my hands hurt worse than them, so while there's more potential to hurt yourself with a steel tool
January 12, 2026 at 9:10 PM
real hard and having your whole body deep sigh as it clunks back into place. also there's an acupressure point in the middle of your sternum that 'clears mucus', and for me, it gives my whole lungs a wobble and coughing fit lmao!
January 12, 2026 at 8:42 PM
i've been learning how to do this (and a similar technique to rah's body wizard) with a steel trigger point pen (eds makes my fingers not suitable lol) to my muscle knots, (and a hotpad instead of a tens when relevant) and it is honestly kinda freaky twisting something just right or poking yourself
January 12, 2026 at 8:41 PM
sometimes the most efficient fix is.... unpleasant, to be fair. i hope you continue to get helped and also not additionally fucked up!!
January 12, 2026 at 8:36 PM
this is the first story of going to a chiropractor i've ever seen without simply being horrified. you found the One Good Chiropractor????
January 12, 2026 at 8:26 PM
