No DMs. Berkeleyan, UC Santa Cruz alum, husband, father, proud public servant.
A 2-dimensional representation of the 3-dimensional strike zone was always pandering to the audience; it's dumb.

But justifying it as keeping pitch intel from players is outright dishonest. That tells me that ABS is badly flawed and MLB knows it is badly flawed.

The fans are being managed.

If you think socialism doesn't work, you're living in a fantasy land. I guess you pay no taxes and your community doesn't have emergency services (police, fire, paramedics), roads, or public education. Or even a defense department. Or the FDA. Or Dept. of Agriculture.

How old are you?

Probably because your brain realizes that you are close to the toilet and the effort to hold it in is starting to relax.

I'm not a neuroscientist or psychologist, but that's my theory.

Change the electorate. Don't leave it up to the usual folks. Because if you do, the next president will look a lot like the others.

I'm also thinking about the future. It's well past time to turn the page on the gerontocracy that's ruled since the 1980s. Folks who have been discouraged from participating need to knock doors, find your voices, and vote. This isn't just about a few people; it's about everyone.

I'm 66, a white cisgendered male, married for almost 40 years. Would I support AOC for president? Absolutely without hesitation, YES.

Do I think AOC can be elected? That depends on the electorate. To do so requires people who have sat out previous elections showing up in huge numbers.

The mind boggles. I bet these same people thought that women should only ride side saddle.

Yuck. Some things are best left in the past. Return to sender.

It's only good if it's a blazing tell.

Which is to say that it's probably bad because it won't be obvious.

This article tells me two things: 1 everything Trump touches turns to shit and must be reformed and renamed or eliminated; 2 after this disgusting administration is eradicated and the vestiges swept away, we must rename our nation's capital. Clinging to the past is the pathway to our predicament.

I can relate to that. For our 1st anniversary, I took Mrs Slug on a hot air balloon ride in Napa. I thought we'd never get above 1,000 feet. We got to 8,000 feet and for a moment I felt... vulnerable. Mrs Slug didn't enjoy the ride. Once was enough. That trip was never discussed again.

We're going to find out.

Welp, I'm one of those rare fans who followed both the A's and the Giants being a native East Bay Arean in his mid-60s. I've seen some things in that time, too.

But now that I have a nephew living in SD with his beloved, I could see allowing the Padres into my fandom. It might be healthier.

That, too. That was a big part of visiting Hawai'i. Tropical breezes, beautiful weather, lsuh landscape, etc., etc.

CBP senior management needs to be fired for incompetence then jailed for reckless endangerment.

I find it utterly hubristic that the burn-it-down crowd would resort to blackmail by way of warning about utter destruction. These guys think their shit don't stink.

Agreed. But it was (and still is) the last state admitted to the US. And when I was a kid in the late 60s, a trip to the islands was a status symbol, a brag.
