Here we go again. Trump has told the UK that if we want a UK-US tech deal, we need to buy chlorinated chicken from the US! 🤢🐔 How dare he try and impose poor food standards in Britain. Sign the petition to keep chlorine-washed chicken off our shelves: 38d.gs/cc-df

GB News’ recent Trump interview was outrageous - completely biased and full of lies. And GB News didn't challenge him ONCE. Ofcom MUST investigate them for breaching its rules. Sign now if you agree.

There must be accountability - not a cover-up - for the 15 humanitarian workers killed by the IDF. I paid tribute today to the importance of bearing witness - from the brave paramedic who filmed the attack & lost his life - to my 2 friends & colleagues detained & deported from Israel over the wknd.

I think we should take this story from the Times today (and picked up by many other outlets) with an enormous pinch of salt for two reason (mini thread):

One teaspoon of the neonicotinoids pesticide could kill 1.25 billion bees. And yet the Government could be about to let it back on English fields. Sign the petition: tell Ministers to keep this ban on bee-killing pesticides in place.

So, for the most part, I think the whole honours system in this country is very weird, archaic and overly politicised, however, if there is one thing that a knighthood is appropriate for, it’s making sure that kids don’t go hungry.

Well done, @london.gov.uk.

Right-wing attacks singling out Sadiq Kahn - who is obviously & demonstrably an exceptionally popular mayor as far as Londoners are concerned - are so blatantly Islamophobic & racist that we don't even say it anymore.

But we should say it. It isn't normal.

Fred, my oldest friend's son, died last month. He was 12.
He was a wonderful boy, with an infectious enthusiasm for food, learning and life.
It was a joy to share his journey, and devastating to say goodbye.
Please read his obituary, share it and be more Fred.

WORLD’S RICHEST MAN BUYING OUR DEMOCRACY! Elon Musk is set to pump £78m into Nigel Farage’s party—a sum that would allow Reform to flood our politics with targeted ads. Maybe other countries allow billionaires to buy elections, but not here!

So easy to be cynical and glib. No-one is under any illusions about the way events often play out in the Middle East, or the character of the groups who defeated Assad. But it is ok to hope. It is ok to celebrate the end of a dictator.
