(1/2) Everyone deserves a safe, healthy home. 🏠
Too many residents are living with damp, mould and long delays for repairs.

That’s why I’ve launched my Safe & Healthy Homes campaign locally, backed by Labour’s £39bn investment in social housing to make homes safer and more secure.

Wishing everyone in Kensington & Bayswater a Happy New Year! 🎆

(1/2) There is a clear conflict of interest at the heart of the Conservative front bench. A shadow Attorney General cannot advise a sanctioned Russian oligarch while holding such a senior political role.

Representing Roman Abramovich - a sanctioned Russian oligarch - while serving as Conservative shadow Attorney-General risks a huge conflict of interest.

Kemi Badenoch needs to make a choice. Either Lord Wolfson continues as shadow AG or advises Abramovich.

He can’t do both.

I was shocked to find out how much public money has been spent with companies cited in the Grenfell Inquiry. New powers in the Procurement Act can help - here is my comment to @jessicaelgot.bsky.social in @theguardian.com today:

Not only have we launched a new Youth Strategy, but we’re bringing the Erasmus scheme BACK!

This has been a huge concern for my constituents. I’m proud that this government is listening to them.

Wishing everyone in Kensington & Bayswater a very Merry Christmas!

A huge thank you to everyone working over this period to keep us safe and look after the community.

Children should be able to thrive no matter where they’re born.

Scrapping the Two Child Cap lifts 450,000 children out of poverty - and over 1,200 in Kensington & Bayswater.

This is the difference that only a Labour government can make.

The staff and pupils at St Mary’s Ukrainian school in our constituency are an inspiration.

Thank you so much for helping to design my Christmas card this year.

Merry Christmas, and Slava Ukraini.

(1/2) I spoke to the Evening Standard about RBKC being one of the only London councils to not charge a second homes premium.

I am calling on the Tory-run authority to end the second homes tax break, and protect vital services as a result.

I’m disgusted to learn that in the last few days, there have been two separate instances of antisemitic hate crime in our community.

To take place on the first day of Chanukah, and after the horrific antisemitic terrorist attack on Bondi Beach on Sunday, makes this even more disturbing.

(1/3)🚨 £10.9 BILLION of taxpayers’ money lost to Covid fraud, error and corruption under the Tories.

Here’s the breakdown:
💸 £5bn – Furlough fraud
🏦 £2.8bn – Bounce Back Loan abuse
🧤 £1.4bn – PPE contract waste
➕ …and more lost elsewhere

An outrageous misuse of public money.

(1/2)🎉 Fantastic news for one of our local schools.

Congratulations to all the staff and students at Thomas Jones School for being named Primary School of the Year and Primary School of the Year in London. What an achievement! 👏

78 years old and in failing health, Jimmy Lai, a British citizen, is about to spend his fifth Christmas away from his family.

Incarcerated in Hong Kong for peacefully exercising his rights to freedom of expression - Jimmy has already spent the last five years in solitary confinement.

I condemn the unjust and politically motivated prosecution of Jimmy Lai that has resulted in today’s guilty verdict. (1/4)

(1/2) T he Greens are sadly not supporting progressive policies, it's just populism for the sake of it. So, I'm glad the Greens’ policies and leadership have been getting more scrutiny in recent days...

(1/2) I agree with the Prime Minister that the "wild promises" of Brexit have hurt our economy and our politics and that we must seek a closer relationship with the European Union.

“I think it’s just the decent thing to do.”

I went out and spoke to commuters about their experience at South Kensington station.

(1/2) This #WorldAIDSDay, as we remember those we have lost, it's also important to celebrate just how far we have come in the fight against HIV.

Thanks to extraordinary medical progress and decades of devoted campaigning, we are now closer than ever to ending new HIV transmissions.

A huge thank you to Ian and the team at the Sanctuary Project at The Salvation Army in Notting Hill for such a warm welcome last week.

Looking forward to exploring how we can work together in the months ahead to deliver for residents in Kensington & Bayswater.

Homes Aren’t Hotels.

Every week I hear from residents who are fed up with the misuse of Short-Term Lets. Ordinary renters and leaseholders are living in buildings turned into hotels.

The government’s new Short-Term Lets Register is excellent news for residents in Kensington & Bayswater. (1/2)

Dodgy businesses are crippling high streets, from candy stores and Harry Potter shops in London, to vape shops, barbers and nail bars across the country. (1/3)
