Wouldn't it be great if data centres built in Scotland were forced to maximally use renewable energy, which we produce to a great extent? This should be part of govs various "pro innovation" outreaches click.actionnetwork.org/ss/c/u001.Xa...
New UK AI datacentre could cause five times emissions of Birmingham airport
Exclusive: emissions from power-hungry warehouses at Lincolnshire facility expected to be 850,000 tonnes a year

In the quest of finding the worst customer service in different airlines (I have only flown 27 international flights in the last two months and a half), I think that @vivaaerobus.bsky.social wins the first spot...rude and not knowing their own rules at Mexico Juarez airport

The last time I came to Doha, I used the @qatarwings.bsky.social Al Safwa lounge. Now they have a cheaply looking, not very well provided lounge exclusive for the alliance members. No more reason to fly Qatar Airways, as the onboard service is good but not excellent (and the food simply was bad)

Back in the US, all the drivers of the Ubers I took, all migrants, supported Trump and repeated the false statements said by the regime puppets...I arrived in UK, my driver fully agrees that we should join the EU #somehope

A somehow balanced report about a nomination seemingly out of balance. Energy production and policies are a bit more complex than what using superlatives allow. Eg. "Drill, baby, drill" and the profits of those who fund you go down as fast as the CO2 go up #Energy
Senate confirms fossil fuel CEO Chris Wright as energy secretary
The key post will promote President Trump's efforts to achieve U.S. "energy dominance" in the global market.

After a paradoxically challenging and rewarding year, here’s to stepping into the new year with resilience, clarity, and the courage to embrace both the expected and the unexpected.

Wishing you all a fulfilling and meaningful 2025.

The GOP Nativity scene:
No unwed mothers, Middle Eastern people, refugees, and obviously no wise men.

It is time we start demanding academic integrity from the teachers, so they focus on developing innovative assessments that evaluate how students can use AI to support and enhance their knowledge and skills.

The problem with flying too often is how easily annoyed one gets with fellow (inexperienced) passengers' lack of in-flight etiquette. Instead of the unnecessary (and more and more histrionic) safety videos, there should be one about how to behave on #gratuitousrant

I bet that someone has the number, but what is the global energy consumption created by public spaces temperature dissonance? Vg, very cold shopping centres, etc, in very hot places, and very warm airports (COPs venues) in cold countries. Nobody likes to be sweating in a mall, but 18°C is not needed
November 23, 2024 at 12:02 PM
I still haven't seen the posts about "at COPs they talk about #ClimateChange but there are dozens of thousands flying around the world to get there"...it wouldn't matter if hundred thousand fly over and over, the problem is that not much is achieved! #COP29 #UNFCCC

The climate change governance should include COPs logistics and limit warming at them...it's near 30°C inside the Baku Stadium! It would be cheaper and more environmentally friendly to give coats to everyone instead of replicating a tropical temperature (AI could tell who needs one) #COP29

The UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) Presidency’s draft decision text on the New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) was published earlier today, and it looks strange how so many well educated people from so many countries fail to understand the meaning of Quantified: the text has no number #COP29

This COP seems a bit less of a fun fair compared to previous one/s, and there is some sense of more serious work, probably due to the anticipation created by COP30, next year in Brazil..not a good time to become irrelevant in a very relevant discussion #COP29 #Argentina
