There’s vast profit in drugs. Of course the billionaires who run and bankroll America (and elsewhere) want a slice of that. Of course they’ll use their power to secure it.

When I was a Beatle mad teen in the 80s, I was listening to George Harrison’s got my mind set on you at school one day and someone asked “Has he ever done anything else before that?” 😰

Sorry, I've gone awfully dark with that 😆 Probably far too dark for Bluesky...

His hand rested on the daft wee unicorn. Pink, rainbow hair. He saw it in Amy’s small hand, her gap-toothed grin as she took it. Two thousand bloody tickets he’d had to win for it, in that arcade, while her mother preened and shopped. He crushed it, threw it towards the wall. He would see Amy again.

Anyway, blocking and deleting all this now as this has been just a massive waste of time.

OK. But very powerful people jailing and destroying political
Opponents is the opposite of democratic. I’d hope we can agree *if* that happened, those involved should face justice.

Does that include women in very powerful positions not being able to abuse the power of the state to jail and destroy political opponents? Because, as a feminist, I believe powerful women should be held accountable for their misdeeds just as much as powerful men.

Happy to be added if Alba folk (well, SNP1/Alba2) are welcome. I tend to get it in the neck from both sides for saying SNP1/Yes2 is what we need, even though it clearly is, and 2021 was a crazy own goal!
December 5, 2024 at 8:40 PM
It’s because support doesn’t boost on its own. You need people making the case, as we did up to 2014, and people need to believe there’s a route and have a date to work towards. SNP turned against people wanting to do that after Brexit vote.
December 3, 2024 at 4:53 PM
It needs that and it needs the very best of them. 2021 was such a ridiculous own goal. We could be independent or well on the way by now. A supermajority then could have made it so only Scottish registered parties can stand for HR, for example. It could have done so much.

You can see the unionist panic in that post there. Far too many did their job for them in 2021 and prevented the forward momentum we needed then, the massively pro Indy, anti Brexit parliament we needed. The result: scunnered electorate and Reform 😣
December 3, 2024 at 12:25 PM
Yes he/she is. But that’s the point - the unionists knew exactly what Alba (or SNP2) as they called it was set up to do. Why didn’t the SNP and Indy movement? We need to learn, fast, and hope it’s not too late.

AMS, Alba and Lego
I've made a wee video. In it, I talk about the Additional Member System (AMS) used for Holyrood elections. I also discuss what the new Alba party can achieve. https://youtu.be/7_NsTz4VWGQ Share and...

Indy was over 50% and we needed another pro Indy party in 2021, to beat the HR system (set up by WM to scupper a pro indy maj). Things could have been so, so different. People are scunnered now, all that 2014 hope squandered. Reform is the result unless SNP & yes movement fast changes & organises.

Aye, sometimes it’s better just to step back, breathe, and let others show themselves.
