Sometimes I think the tails are hot, and sometimes I hate that they prevent sexy butt cleavage from ever happening. You can get a lot of good wanking in when you're an unemployed mooch. I've never seen any place that offers the service of making cardboard cutouts, yet they seem so readily available in cartoons. Alicia is full of good advice like you wouldn't believe.

Characters belong to butthutt, daragoth~ and vittripps! Paying homage to the EC Horror comics of the 50's, 'The Seed Out of Space' is actually one of five short segments featured in this experimental film by F. Cravenster. Audiences were, to say the least, taken aback by this shocking segment, which single-handedly made the entire film unsuitable for theatrical release. ...Needless to say, I think this particular viewer is finding it shocking as well. Based on the 1970's novel of the same name, 'The Wives of Stratford' was F. Cravenster's most controversial film, which was no small feat when compared to the rest of his library of work. Where the novel was a "Feminist Horror" putting a spotlight upon toxic masculinity and systemic misogyny, Cravenster took the complete opposite route, reframing the story as a pornographic celebration of traditional values and male dominance. Not that any of the actresses, impromptu or otherwise, are complaining. Produced as an homage to silent, black and white film with only an orchestral track and occasional subtitles, 'Bride of the Living Dead' might have been a true classic if not for its many controversies that saw copies of the film sought out and destroyed. Beyond simply the outcries against it for defying 'good taste', the estate of Bram Stoker sued over its similarities to Dracula, in spite of its different title, characters of different names, and its decidedly more erotic nature. Isn't this viewer lucky to have stumbled onto such a rare piece of horror film culture?

Well now, look at this very pretty and stylish tarot! I like it! The card quality COULD be better, but I think it's neat, and has some interesting approaches to its execution. Cirque du tarot has a story to tell! ...Well actually, it has five, played out in five acts and one intermission! The first act is the major arcana, a grand performance introducing many if the big actors and stage hands that work at the circus. In the intermission we see the actors gearing up and dressing for their respective shows. Then the four shows begin! Each suit is a performance based on the totem's element. Here is the fiery, pyrotechnics of the wands!

Tarot-deck-33, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Tarot", by Nick Lawyer!

The back of these cards might be one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It screams "tarot" and "spooky harvest time". The theme of the deck is, as the title implies, mostly sleepy hollow, with the horseman and ichabod showing up multiple times in the deck; however, it's also just largely "americana" themed of the sleepy hollow era, which definitely pads things out well. Some decks with a strict theme suffer from having not enough characters to draw upon from the ip they're doing. More than just colonial americana, the other strong hand this deck plays is being in the style of the RWS deck! I like it a lot, though this occasionally does make a particular picture stand out when there's some airbrushing, or more dramatic colours I like the subtle spookiness of this deck. It feels like a tarot I might actually read with, under particularly thematic circumstances.

I'm always back and forth on "gimmick" decks. A lot of the time what I really WANT in a tarot deck is functionality, as I see it, which means clarity if its meaning and a sense if 'immersion' in a way (meaning I want it to look kinda timeless, and not have TM text on it). ...All that being said though, I do like collecting weird theme decks or gimmick decks for the sake of collection. They're not often FUNCTIONAL, but they're still fun. This deck however is VERY fun, and I think it keeps its meanings pretty good with its thick theme of every card looking like a pulp paperback cover. It reminds me a lot of the "Zombie Tarot"! How hecking clever is this deck? The card names look like book titles, and the card numbers look like little series listings or prices! Fantastic! At first I wondered, as good as they looked, looking like pulp covers, if they weren't just repurposed illustrations from elsewhere, like "Tarot of Tales and Legends", but I believe not. The pictures really do seem to match up to the cards, even if it's sometimes in bizarre ways, like a giant lobster on the moon! More cleverness continues in the card meanings sometimes being hinted at by the "book" taglines! And of course how could I not share the cheekiness that is the visual pun of the "Three of Cups". This deck is really fun! I've yet to see how it would actually feel in a reading- it might take a little more focus and thought because of how busy each picture is, and how distracting they are, but even if I don't make a habit of using it I'm very pleased to have this.

I can't very well call this "tarot deck a day" anymore, BUT, this here is tarot deck 32, as I have since added to my collection! This is "Tarot if Tales and Legends", using art by Henry Justice Ford.

The cards are of decent enough quality, neither impressive nore repulsive. The art, though beautiful, is of less quality resolution when REALLY looked at, than a distant glance would lead you to believe. The art of course, is the crux of this deck. The pictures are not at all meant for a tarot, and are illustrations from Henry Justice Ford, taken and used for this deck. The illustrations CAN, if one bends their minds to it, work for the major arcana... ...but the minors are where things fall apart. Do you see a matching item in ANY of these pictures? A sword in the five of wands? Come now.
