Clippy is a defunct corporate mascot turned meme that signals nothing in practice other than potentially the person using it thinks changing your profile photo is an act of protest - which it isn’t.

At this point, enough people have jumped on the bandwagon that it means nothing at all.

i'm tired, so tl;dr: i would be a lot more sympathetic to bsky staff if they could demonstrate, in any capacity, that they had our backs. so far, i have only reason to believe that they don't.
