It’s common to “try out” and research therapists before committing to long-term work with them. They usually have information about their specialties & interests online to help weed out those who aren’t a good match. It’s then recommended to follow up with a meeting to assess fit for both parties :)

I’m afraid I’d get a MAGA therapist like a Dr in the practice we have.
Too many Alumni friends, including an old friend who is a psychologist AND MAGA.
Who needs a therapist who voted for anyone defending 1/6/21, normalizing tax fraud, 34 felonies, malicious defamation & sexual assault?

Perfect! I thought about going to a counselor or therapist. But then I wondered if they were feeling the same and no one could help because we are all in this same fucking ship!

Agreed, and yet the President has been raised above the law by SCOTUS majority ideologically opposed to big government, and a now lawless executive branch is apparently incapable of being reigned in by the other branches. Your Big Brother isn't gov, just whichever broligarch last had Trump's ear

Except the government is applying the same principles to control the populace. Doublethink. Thought police. Changing the past to control the future. And it isn’t communism per se that is the issue but rather the extreme government control over all facets of life that is required to realize it.

yeah, but his concern was a communist authoritarian regime without individual rights, whereas the US is overrun by an ideology of small government and individualism over common good that has resulted in power fomenting divisions to advance broligarchs' interests
so he couldn't have been more wrong

George Orwell was only 42 years off. Nineteen Eighty-Four wasn’t prophecy, it was a warning—and we missed it. Perhaps we never wanted to be loved so much as to be understood. #Orwell #1984 #Surveillance #Truth #Dystopia

Both parties have been telling us to reject your eyes and ears.

It's how we got here!
It's the system they built for them.

The single most powerful force for humanity is unity.
The single most powerful force against it is division.
Break the system that broke us. For the people by the people!

Unfortunately, when so many people began getting addicted to screens & stopped reading & discussing books, Orwell’s warnings began to slip into oblivion.

Reread it recently and for most of the first half of it I couldn’t stop saying: “ oh shit” a lot.
Not exactly a manual for this regime - more like a “primer”.
You (most unfortunately ) find Miller coming to mind.
