Today marks the wrap on watching the entire Fassbinder filmography. It began on December 16, 2023 with Beware of the holy whore (1971) and ended with The coffee house (1970). I will miss this almost-every-Sunday Rainer-service

Jesse Meadows substack tricking me into opening my emails, forgetting what I was looking for and answering last weeks procrasti-mail instead is an appreciated bonus feature of their amazing writing

From the gift that is M. Gessen - gift link to their essay today on the political and personal impact of denationalization. Denationalization is what is happening and has been for a while in public condemnations of trans and all non- normative people. The great whitening starts here:

The message is that we are a threat to the nation. The subtext is that we are not of this nation.

Wondering who else here had a teenage moment of strong identification with the figure of the cyborg and how this ties into later diagnosis of chronic illness and/or feeling out of place in ones body…

I recently wrote a text about being a stand-in undertaker at an Infocenter for death and grief, as part of @fettesans.bsky.social zine about Finale Filiale and here it is:
aka welcome back to my blog
The Stand-In Undertaker
A Dispatch from Finale Filiale It's amazing that this space exists, but I am an artist, I don't think I need to talk about death. She said, after having told me she just came from a memorial...

When I changed my name I asked the registry employee who could have access to these documents and her answer boiled down to "if it comes to it, it will be our personal responsibility to protect these from fascists and we will give our very best to do so."
Have you been asked, as a federal worker, to do something you don't want to do? But they won't put it in writing?

DON'T DO IT.

If they're going to punish you? MAKE THEM PUT IT IN WRITING. ALL OF IT.

Document, document, document.

Act confused. Be confused! Go slow. Require clarity. Lots. Document
