More overnight #astrophotography as we were again treated with clear skies.

The Sculptor Galaxy (60 mins) + the Eagle Nebula (and famous Pillars of Creation at its centre - 120 mins). Captured with Seestar (5cm aperture) and under extremely light polluted skies.

Clouds back today 😶‍🌫️😢

A spiral galaxy that is nearly edge on, and thus, appearing long and narrow. Within the galaxy, swirls of dark dust lanes trace the spiral arm structure with the central hub glowing bright. In the foreground are several stars which reside in our own galaxy. A large, nebulous reddish cloud of excited hydrogen gas. A cluster of bright hot stars at its centre is giving off UV radiation causing the hydrogen to ionise and emit the red hues. The nebula is densest near the centre and radially becomes diffuse. There are dark, clumpy and high dense regions of irregular shapes which is where the material is concentrated most.
