Is there a chance Trump invades Greenland and argues that this justifies it?

Pretty unlikely, but wouldn’t surprise me.

Wouldn’t make much sense as it would take like 5-10 years to build a serious mining industry there

Trump: Tariffs aren’t a negotiation, move your industries back here.

Also Trump: Suspends tariffs for 90 days because 70 countries are negotiating.

Also Trump: No tariffs for certain products.

But move your companies back here anyway.

His political economy schizophrenic arc is in full swing.

MAGA econometric enthusiasts are in such a paradoxical rollercoaster that it can only be described as sheep behaviour at this point

“Tariffs are really good actually, but it’s also great they’re paused for 90 days or if they don’t happen at all”
April 10, 2025 at 9:47 AM
His supporters keep saying “he has a plan”

Yes he does. And that’s not necessarily a good thing.

His friends made millions off this thing and the SEC won’t bother, you’ll see.

MAGA: Tarrifs are good and war is bad

Trump strikes Yemen while Israel continues to genocide

MAGA: War is necessary to protect free trade

4 eleições legislativas em menos de 6 anos.

O estado da governabilidade no país está na lama. Surreal

Anyone else surprised that the markets are not responding well to 17th century mercantilist policies?

Eleições legislativas antecipadas ano sim ano não diz muito sobre a nossa classe política e sua incompetência.

Isto é insustentável.

The stupidity on twitter around Trump’s “solution” to the Ukraine war is sickening.

It’s absurd to side with Putin over the argument that Ukraine isn’t a democracy because it didn’t hold elections while a considerable part of its territory is under occupation.

So a plane crash just happened and the first thing that comes to this man’s head is to blame it on DEI. No investigation, not a single piece of evidence. I mean, all about it is so so stupid.

I’m not surprised though, just the same as always
President Trump without evidence blamed FAA diversity programs and the Biden administration for the deadly midair aircraft collision in Washington, D.C., that took place Wednesday night. No cause has been determined yet.
President Blames D.E.I. and Biden for Crash Under Trump’s Watch
President Trump’s remarks, suggesting without evidence that diversity in hiring and other Biden administration policies somehow caused the disaster, reflected his instinct to immediately frame major e...

But of course Israel heavily bombed Beirut once again this morning.

If the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah really goes through, then Netanyahu couldn’t stop himself from delivering ‘just one last massacre’ in Lebanon.

Which we all know it won’t be the case
"I think that both sides have been forced to make concessions."

Lebanese journalist and analyst Ali Rizk tells @krishgm.bsky.social "chances are really high" that we will see an end to the fighting between Israel and Lebanon.

According to many bots on twitter, this is not an escalation, just like sending North Korean soldiers to the frontline isn’t.

But when Ukraine uses ‘long-range’ missiles to defend its territory against an imperialist dictatorship, well, that’s unacceptable

Mind you, this is the date when the report to Morgenthau was sent. That was a Tuesday. The BIS meeting where this discussion took place happened the previous Saturday and Sunday, the 11th and 12th of March, 1939.

A difficult read, especially since the occupation of czechoslovakia began in the same exact month this is from.

I wonder if this was written before or after the 15th of March…
Great predictions by central bankers in March 1939.

I genuinely can not understand the argument that actually it’s Ukraine who is escalating the war because they’re defending their territory against an imperialist dictator with long-range missiles that are not even that long-range.

Foucault on neoliberal policy:

The general form of the market becomes an instrument, a tool of discrimination in the debate with the administration. Laissez-faire is turned into a do-not-laisser-faire government.

That's why there's an aggressive effort now to blame "identity politics," it's a retcon because Harris ran exactly the campaign centrists wanted, catering to conservatives, never criticizing Netanyahu, never blaming billionaires or big corporations, the works—just to lose to Old Man Yells at Cloud.
I agree on the centrist point and frankly there are a lot of people out there who are just saying what they need to say to cover their ass and cash a check. It sucks.

The Cheney thing is a clear example of a bad idea that the people who pushed it won’t take responsibility for. They need to

I had been on twitter since 2015, but the catastrophic management of the platform left me with no choice other than to quit.

I expected Musk to be bad, but I can say that I severely underestimated his ability to shatter a company so quickly.
