Here in Spain the pied wagtail is commonly called 'lavandera blanca', due to its habit of hanging around the public communal washing areas, now no longer in use. The name means 'white washerwoman'

But we DO have peacocks....

Same country, different county #Somerset. This is the way from the Roman lead mines above Cheddar, to the (then) port at Axbridge, when the Levels were under water in winter.
