Thank you, Laura. I appreciate your explanation and do hope that change happens sooner versus later. In the meantime, I think it's still necessary to foreground and celebrate women writing about the Beatles (no matter their focus/ specialisation).

For example: The Beatles and the Historians by Erin Weber and Beatleness by Candy Leonard, to name a few authors and titles. There are quite a few more.

The phrasing lends itself to that interpretation, as I'm not the only one who read it that way. I definitely do appreciate the intention of the article. It's an argument I also make in my book: there are actually a number of women Beatles scholars/authors doing great work, but men are the "experts."
