A ghost wizard streamer, as opposed to a wizard streamer ghost.
Political Tribalism in a nutshell.

"We agree about this one thing, therefore anyone who disagrees with me about anything is your enemy."

It is a poison to thought.

This is the sanest take I've read on here all year.
Ninja's marketing is targeted at very specificly the segment of lower "middle" class edgelords.
Literally the Walmart version of better products, but marked up to exploit mall ninjas.

I approach political parties like fighting fire with fire. Burn a little forest to contain a larger fire, but don't trust the small fire. They are engines of decay, whose primary value is as weapons against each other.

Why don't either of the Two Parties want to end the Two Party System that makes them rich and powerful? I don't know, it's a real mystery.
Neither of us will sit in the shade of the trees we plant. The mountain to be moved is just that big.
May 27, 2025 at 6:38 PM
If it was that easy to bring the system down, you would have done it already, and we wouldn't be having this conversation. A river doesn't move a mountain in a day.
May 27, 2025 at 6:32 PM
No, smash the political machine.
Ballot reform. Auto Runoff is better than FPTP ballots. End the Electoral College. End the Two party system.

But we aren't going to do that without any fingers. In this metaphor, the lost fingers are your communists dying in an El Salvadorian for-profit prison.

Running on a party ticket is useful, because the political identity spectrum is a useful tool for politicians to control voters. It is not in the interest of voters to allow themselves to be manipulated with such cheap demagoguery. Play the game. Don't let the game play you.
May 27, 2025 at 6:26 PM
Look at it this way. The Two Party system has you in a Jigsaw trap, that offers you a choice. If you push a button, it will cut off your finger, but if you do not push, it cuts off three fingers. "Because I still lose a finger. I will not push."
The situation sucks, but save a couple fingers.

Every political party in the history of Earth has been a loose confederation of temporary allies, held together by a common need, until such time as it became more useful to betray each other. Don't turn your back, just spend your energy where is will give them a chance to do things you needed done.

The beauty of life is that no two people see the same sight in exactly the same way.

To transmit perfect information between two neural networks, such as brains, those neural networks would have to be perfect copies of each other. Every translation or adaptation involves some degree of data loss. Even mild training of an LLM can cause LoRA to become incompatible.
May 27, 2025 at 6:13 PM
So you're specifically addressing people in the center of the American Left movement, who try to keep the party united against the American Right, by downplaying corrupt leftists and amplifying opponents' scandals. Distinct from capital C *C*centrists, who reject party loyalty.

If I have to choose, I'm far more interested in civility than argument.
May 27, 2025 at 6:05 PM
Since no two organic neural networks are identical, the in-network "meaning" of the interpreted symbol will necessarily be distinct from that of the sender, so additional loss occurs during decoding and processing. Just try to keep it under 0.08%
May 27, 2025 at 6:04 PM
Well, symbol mediated communication is inherently lossy. My eventual thesis will prove that every word forms a quantum uncertainty wave of potential meanings upon leaving the sender, which collapses when interpreted by the receiver. We can only strive to focus the beam in the tightest area we can.
May 27, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Also, please please tell me you want to argue about the nuances of symbol mediated communication. This is my field of study and new perspectives are a treat.
May 27, 2025 at 5:48 PM
Ok. Define your understanding of Centrism in a way that makes sense to a person who rejects platform planks having inbuilt reactionary/progressive natures.
For me: Our defining ideal is to reject the value of the political spectrum as a social construct. Lacking this creed, we are not Centrists.
May 27, 2025 at 5:45 PM
You are imagining me as someone very different than who I am. You will not defeat your real enemies by turning every potential ally into their shadow clone.
May 27, 2025 at 5:36 PM
I'm more of a Democratic Socialist goals by Conservative means Centrist, but I don't think your worldview allows for a political compass that complex. I'm not expecting you to declare peace with the other "left" factions unilaterally, just be open to the opportunity should it arise.
May 27, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Centrism does not work that way.
May 27, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Disappointingly weak argument (not sarcasm)
May 27, 2025 at 5:27 PM
If I had my preferences it'd be universal medicaid, religious freedom, racial harmony, and an STV ballot that would kill the Two-Party system in the US. As is, I'll settle for fewer death camps and not ending medicaid for people already on it. Life sucks.
