Just imagine a lonely little Feesh browsing through books on this exact balcony (that miraculously has not collapsed, killing several bookworms, in the intervening decades), on the edge of discovering a whole new genre she didn't even dare imagine, especially from such a respected literary figure.
An L shaped balcony inside a used bookstore (Myopic Books in Chicago, if you happen to be familiar or curious). It looks to be constructed mostly out of 2 by 4s and hope, and the outside wall is covered floor to ceiling in packed bookshelves. It overlooks the first floor of the store, which is also covered floor to ceiling in packed bookshelves

We shut down the garden today so dinner is raclette round 2. 4 varieties of potato, fresh parsley and chives, and both cornichons and horseradish pickles are all from the garden.

I'm so serious, kids, if you have room for a few grow bags, fresh potatoes are very little work and so fucking worth it.

So, Melog was a little gray dumpster kitten that one of Mr F's coworkers found, so she is *technically* named after all the fanfic Melogs with similar backstories, not canon Melog (but she does disappear). And she needed a buddy so when we were offered a kitten with a glorious mustache, I mean 🤷

I'm really thrilled with how this one turned out! Except maybe the part where none of my hair plans worked and I ended up frantically painting a swim cap at 1am 🤣🤣🤣

Thinking back to the year 10 went as Captain Kirk, so we adopted *one* Tribble mid-October.

I don't fuck with that elf on the shelf bullshit but I highly recommend orchestrating a one-time-only Tribbletober if you have kids. By far the best piece of holiday magic I've ever pulled off 😂.
