i've had a few people ask where i am - not posting much at all these days. yes, i'm here, kinda 🫣
for now, i'm still holding @ feesable everywhere (excl tw), and prefer decentralised nets.
my own nexts are still undecided and i'm watching what happens with all tech platforms/current coups.

anyone found a way to import instagram archives to pixelfed (or other fediverse option), which allows more than 100 posts?

pixelfed is *supposed* to be able to import >5000, but i'm only able to import 100. also only back to 2015, which is years after i started using insta.

?

this would have been a strong contender for the ultra short story project i cocreated 24yrs ago (the-phone-book.com - no longer online, sadly).

I dunked a cookie in my tea this morning. Held it under until the bubbles stopped. Thought of you.

this will be interesting to follow. can any govt be forced to accept accountability for its support of - and profiting from - genocide? they should, all of them.

no humane system can profit from the deaths of others. you're grown ass adults, learn to heal your wounds and talk instead of kill, ffs.
This case is vital in holding the government accountable for its complicity in Israel’s genocide. But it never should have come to this. Successive governments should have imposed a full arms embargo on Israel. Instead they have prioritised the profits of arms dealers over Palestinian lives.

my sister's heading up to #Edinburgh today, and i'm daydream-travelling vicariously.

other than the exorbitant cacophony of pretty xmas lights, what's on up there at the mo that you'd recommend?

extra brownie points for #neuroqueer and #arts stuff.

i'd really like a 'filter feed by country' option on social media. it'd be nice to immerse fully in the voices of a particular place sometimes. and yes, it'd also be nice to sometimes quiet-down the barrage of voices from other places which might be particularly loud. ahem.

my life is one big snerdling 😆
might be time to get up soon, tho... 🤔
maybe one more coffee first? 😏
My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Morning.

i like these observations from Luis Mojika (@holistic.life.navigation on insta), about current trends in online behaviour. they're seemingly the netiquette du jour, and say more about the commenter's untreated trauma/conditioning than those people might realise.

i'd very much like to be got, if this is what being got means. where's my racoons at? 🔎🦝

i mean, hell, i'm not fussy: all critters welcome! i'll even take a soft toy if it's big enough to hug back.

my task for the day is "decluttering*" in prep for moving. (*by which i mean "drinking tea and faffing about in here". obvs.)

maybe i'll take the bins out. that technically fits the definition. although it will require putting on pants, which might be too great a leap for today's motivation levels.

i've had an account here for a while (under a diff name), but just added one under feesable in case anyone from the other place wanted to find me.

i'm a lot quieter online these days. i miss the early days of tech, when everything was possible, and we hadn't fucked it all up, yet.
