+ Employees who were furloughed will now be considered to have been in pay status and accruals for sick and annual will be made to cover the shutdown period

I am truly glad the shutdown is over and you can get back to work serving the #American public. That being said, I worry that we will see continued disruption in agencies going forward and I think it is prudent to prepare to the extent possible.

+ Up your #networking game. The best time to network is when you have a job. Networking is about relationships, not asking for a job. While this won't guarantee success if you lose your job (which I hope you won't!), it is always good to have and nurture a strong network.

+ Update your #resume--to accommodate the new federal 2 page style as well as your non-federal resume. While I hope you won't need your non-federal version, it does not hurt to have it--the future at many agencies is unclear.

Regardless, if you are a federal employee, you should do several things now, rather than later (if you have not already done them):

+ Print out and take home your SF-50s, pay statements, and other relevant #HR documents so you have them.

For most #agencies the CR only goes through January. Let's hope that Congress can reach agreement on a budget by then.
