Rachel Zegler did nothing wrong. Fight me IDGAF.

I have to say, the new Snow White isn’t terrible, but… it is every moment that Gal Gadot is on screen. For all that “controversies” have been centered on Rachel Zegler for some reason, Rachel really was the best part of it. Gal’s performance was Razzie bad though.

My #1 toxic trait is saying “it was reduced by one-tenth?” every time someone uses the word “decimate.”

If your complaint about modern movies is that there’s “nothing original anymore,” I encourage you to check out Black Bag. Or Novocaine. Or Opus. All new entirely original movies that dropped this weekend. Put your money where your mouth

The “Demi losing to Mikey is the exact plot of The Substance” takes are almost as annoying as the “Ryan Gosling getting in but not Margot Robbie is the exact plot of Barbie” takes, which are almost as annoying as people who say “this is just like in Harry Potter” for every world event.

I’m reading Axiom’s End by Lindsay Ellis and feeling depressed because it’s set in 2007 and the main character just filled her gas tank for $20 and got a burger (*and* shake) at In n Out for $5.

I miss the pre-recession economy and wish I was old enough to have the proper appreciation for it.

Me talking about Lord of the Rings, theatre, performing, politics, etc: “I hope people don’t think this is all there is to me.”

Me talking about Buffy the Vampire Slayer: “I want everyone to know that this show was formative for me and is in fact the entire basis of my personality.”

Tonight was a night for revisiting Buffy S5. Revisiting Buffy always gives me warm feelings. Dawn was such a special part of this show, and as a “youngest sibling” I could always relate. Michelle Trachtenberg gave such a wonderfully relatable performance. Absolutely gutted.

Devastated to hear about Michelle Trachtenberg. I had been wondering about her health for a while. This news hit me like a freight train.

Watching some Buffy tonight in her honor.

MCU fans have become as hyper-defensive as the Snyder cult and it’s wild to see.

Mikey takes the BAFTA! Best Actress race is in disarray again. It feels like almost an even chance of Mikey Madison, Demi Moore, or Fernanda Torres!

I’m here for it. Still leaning toward Demi for my ballot, but we’ll see!

While I can’t seem to escape really annoying posts about the comic book movie on Threads, I just have to say that the new Bridget Jones movie is a really great time! I fully support Hugh Grant embracing his hilarious degenerate era.

I shouldn’t have to specify this, but here we are. If I’m critical of a comic book (or video game) movie, it is 100% never because I’m comparing it to Citizen Kane. I’m always comparing them to other movies in their genre. FFS.

Most of my enthusiasm surrounding Rings of Power Season 3 being on its way is that the worst people you know are about to be BIG MAD about it.

Nobody:
Not a soul:
Hyper-defensive MCU fans when a mediocre movie comes out: “Oh, what, did you expect it to be Citizen Kane?! I bet you expected it to be Citizen Kane! You can’t just turn your brain off and enjoy a movie, can you?! You just need to turn your brain completely off! GAAAHHH!”

The Wheel of Time Season 3 trailer has me so hyped. Mainly because Perrin/Faile and the Battle of the Two Rivers!

If Norman Rockwell’s work is a love letter to Small Town Americana (TM), Stephen King’s books are the hate mail to it.

Between Critics’ Choice and DGAs, Anora’s Oscar odds just went WAY up.

Remember how 2 weeks ago we were all bemoaning the inevitable Emilia Perez win? Remember that the race can wildly change in the 2 months between Golden Globes and Oscars. CODA and Parasite are recent examples.

Rewatching Lady Bird. One of my personal favorites (of all time). Greta Gerwig doesn’t miss.

2017 was such a banger year for movies and nothing has really come close to matching it since.
