Don't get me wrong, fuck Trump on so many levels. But if you think leftist men are magically less predatory and abusive than right wing men, you are willfully ignorant to the abuse that many leftist men happily participate in.

Someone commented “no one seems to care when it happens to men.” Yet that photo set had millions more likes and reblogs than any other photo set they posted.

It’s not that men have it worse, it’s that people think they don’t “deserve” abuse in the way everyone else “deserves” it.

And of course, if you point this out, you get accused of not caring about male victims. From people who actively mock everyone else for coming forward about abuse.

I remember being on Tumblr in the 2010s when Project Unbreakable posted the photo set of men who had been sexually assaulted.

Same goes for jokes involving Bill Cosby or Harvey Weinstein. I guarantee if Bill Cosby drugged and raped 50 men, we would not have a mainstream comedy making a Bill Cosby joke. But because he targeted women, jokes about him are also inescapable. Yet cis men are the ones not taken seriously?

And it becomes really obvious when you look at people making jokes involving sexual predators and abusers. I’ve barely heard anyone make a joke about Kevin Spacey, other than people who go out of their way to be “edgy.” But Jeffrey Epstein jokes are inescapable.

The thing is, abuse towards cis men is seen as wrong in a way that abuse towards women, children, and trans people isn’t. Men aren’t supposed to be victims of abuse, they’re supposed to be doling out the abuse. They’re supposed to be the one in control. Therefore, abusing them is wrong.
