My most recent substack casually connects Bar Dykes, a 1980S play by Merril Mushroom published in 2016 recently performed in rural TN to late night deep dives into the digitized 1960s Village Voice Bulletin Board section and the psychicdelic counterculture of the LES. tinyurl.com/3rbm5k8j

Hey - something tangible you can do is ask your postal clerks if they know when their next audit is (might be called a function four) and then GO TO THE POST OFFICE ON THOSE DAYS so they have better numbers!! That's how we keep postal jobs.

The USPS is being threatened with massive layoffs and privatization. I made these postcards which—when mailed—will be seen by mail handlers, scanners, carriers and the recipient. I just printed 3,000 more. Order cheaply from halfletterpress.com or message me your email for the PDF to print them.

Finally made it to the New York Public Library picture room! I had an hour & looked at 2 folders: 1. Junk 2. Kisoks. I can’t wait to go back

Congratulations May Day! I worked at May Day Cafe in the early 2000’s & love seeing this place live on as a worker owned coop! Now a part of deep radical coop legacy in the twin cities!
Congratulations to the worker owners of May Day Cafe in Minneapolis! Not only does May Day stand as a cooperative today, they own their building. They also raised over $100k to help fund working capital. Go visit May Day soon! maydaycafe.coop

I’ve seen a few posts that round up accounts to follow here. I’m sorta struggling with people’s names & handles not matching. Are there any good resources for finding each other? 🥵

I sent a queer elder autodidact historian that I’ve been deeply inspired by an email of gratitude & offerer to send a copy of my new book, and he accepted. Reminder: reach out to folks who inspire you. We need each other more than ever 💖

I can't tell who's on here yet, so I'm not tagging people, but Xandar's substack rules. This was the Saturday night read I needed.
A PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER IN PROVIDENCE and the case of the mysteriously disappearing student cooperatives
I started working on this piece before the inauguration and the ensuing shitstorm of executive orders, which are so clearly an onramp to fascism that it is hard to psychically think outside of them.

Always thinking about what we save. This folder label “faythe school 88-89” was salvaged from when I was helping my mom clean out her papers. I glued it to my current notebook & I love it.
