Starting anew - it is always a good time to build a better future. Governing, people, and technology are my focus.

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

Good reminder, then there is this happening. They're good at socializing costs and privatizing profits.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Get your facts straight or refresh your third grade lessons.

The right to peaceful protest is a foundational element of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

It enshrines the rights of free speech, peaceful assembly, and petitioning the government for redress of grievances.

Time to reread:

In his 2017 article, "How to Build an Autocracy," David Frum wrote, "The main benefit of controlling a modern bureaucratic state is not the power to persecute the innocent. It is the power to protect the guilty".

Next time someone says, "meritocracy" expect this:

Without leader accountability, meritocracy can become a rhetorical cover for maintaining the status quo, allowing power and rewards to concentrate among those with influence rather than those with merit.

#Sad to see leadership deciding to use premature capitulation instead of courage to counter the bullying and lawlessness.

They know better.

Sending anyone from this country to a foreign gulag, particularly without a court hearing, should rightfully end a presidency. Full stop.
