Book two of the year! I do like Wendig's work, I mostly prefer my horror a little bleaker, but on the other hand I had a run of other books where things were cruising for a bleak as fuck ending and then things turned out mostly alright. So I really appreciate him having a consistent tone.

I started reading the article and immediately got sidetracked by this, because what the fuck are you talking about, this poll is asking if you'd rather be paid in cash or money.
A Harvard study also found that those arrested on that day were motivated by loyalty to Trump rather than support for an insurrection.

It really is.
What the selection does, however, is forfeit her best opportunity to send a message that she is a moderate. She needs to take every possible opportunity between now and November to make up for that. Harris needs to adopt positions that will upset progressive activists. She needs to specifically understand that the likelihood a given action or statement will create complaints on the left is a reason to do something, rather than a reason not to.

But … does she? Her decision to pick Tim Walz, while not completely irrational, makes me much more cautious and less optimistic that Harris does understand the assignment. The assignment, to be clear, is to win over voters who don’t like Donald Trump but worry Harris is too liberal.
