I am reminded of Isaak Levitan's famous picture of the Vladimirka. Yours is more positive, however, the Vladimirka was a route to the katorga, the earlier name of the Gulag.

On the way back to Berlin dropped in at the home of Karl Marx in Trier. Got a smile from a Chinese visitor when whistling a few bars of the Internationale. Herewith the chair in which Marx did much of his reading and in which he is said to have died. Also Marx "merch".

It seems odd that the BBC, a sophisticated broadcaster, did not grasp that the clothing issue was just a component of the confected ambush that the presser itself was; a usable pretext not an actual offence. If its alright for the Pope then it should do for a gangster!
