And front and rear dynamo lights. Actually super impressed by the $15 lights from Aliexpress. On par with $150 German ones

The DIY cargo bike now sports front discs. A random piece of flat steel, cut and brazed to the original fork.

A few people stopped by and asked for some apples. Also found some plums and (obviously) blackberries.
A 16' orchard ladder is the perfect tool and a bike trailer the best way to carry it around.

I love #cargobikes as much as the next guy, but sometimes a trailer is the tool of the day. Today the paddle-board DIY trailer (a cross between a broken ladder and a kid hauler) and I went apple picking along the bike path #yyj

I think the Canadian hardcore proponents of "partnership based" research (like CIHR) who have been funnelling a growing % of the research $ to topics selected by governments should do some serious soul searching. Because basically they have been saying the exact same thing for years.

Seem to be an intense year for bioluminescent dinoflagellates blooms in the Salish sea. I never saw as much daylight orange before

When shopping for a pocket multi tool, choose one with a chain-link tool. It could save you from a long walk home after work.

One full grocery cart into the #cargobike. We do have a car. But pedaling is so much more enjoyable. #yyj

In 1995, Umberto Eco wrote a list of the 14 central features of Fascism.
Exactly 30 years later, the US elected a government with a perfect score of 14/14 on the Fascism-scale.
You can (and should) read the whole text (archive.org/details/umbe...) but here are some quotes

I’ve always felt that, of all the websites on the Internet, www.despair.com resonated most deeply with my inner self

But this poster really capture the essence of the days we are living

Another airport ride. The good of riding to the airport is the ride. The bad of biking to the airport is all what comes next (security, flying etc.)

Grocery day… there is an overflowing large cart amount of groceries in that basket. #yyj #cargobike. And yes I almost dropped my phone

OMG I’m in an event (nursing) where a keynote speaker told a room full of faculty members « we shouldn’t be so humble »

Say again? We academics are too humble?!?!

Tell me it was deadpan humour 😵‍💫

Not an easy subject to capture. The front frame is welded upside down. Homemade disk tabs on the back

Three years ago, I built a #cargobike out of two frames, part of a ladder and a bird cage. I didn't expect to really use it much.

But honestly now we can't do without...

It was out of commission for a month to deal with a cracked tube and we missed it *so much*...

Everyone needs a #cargobike
