Found Blood of the Dragon ('71) in a four DVD collection for $5... it has provided so much more entertainment than that price. Ridiculously fun, pretty good choreography and with just enough jokes to keep it fun while not getting absurd. Can't recommend enough and a good gateway film to the genre.

Finally have a nice copy of Mirror. Tarkovsky's way of using the equipment and film he could get a hold of was masterful. Would have loved to meet them and chew their ear off about how shots were made and just how dangerous some of the rigging was. Never made a film I didn't love.

I leave before the dark comes.

We live over in town, miles away.

So there won't be anyone around if you need help.

We couldn't hear you... in the night.

No one could. No one lives any nearer than town. No one will come any nearer than that..

...in the night, in the dark.

Bring Her Back (2025) is one of the few recent films that have made me squirm. Immersive acting and setting throughout. Wonderful play with the mystery of what exactly is going on by properly pacing out each intriguing clue and while it's not hard to guess, the truth is nicely ambiguous. Grapefruit.

Weapons (2025) has so many details that are touched on just enough to get your interest piqued only to tear away from the exploration only give yet another set of details. Callbacks are masterfully interwoven both narratively and visually to keep you grasping for more. Loved every moment of it.

This little dude shall forever have a rent free home in my head.

War of the Worlds (2025) is one of the worst films I've seen in my entire life. Unhinged editing, nonsensical story, uploading "rabbit virus.exe" to fight the aliens, and the product placement is insulting. Do not watch as it's not even fun. I'm just angry now.

It's always time to watch Over The Garden Wall again.

Peugeot 205 T16! Only 200 were made purely to enter this car into rally races as a "production" vehicle (old Group B rally requirements). There are many variants of the 205 model, but this one if my favourite.

Top 4 Video Game OSTs

Still can't get Simon's Quest out of my head... What a horrible night to have a curse...

Control, Outer Wilds and Tunic set the tone for their worlds so well that they wouldn't have been anywhere near as good with different soundtracks. (Ahti's tango is also pretty sweet)

Don't know why but I've subjected myself to my favourite "hostile" movie again, Enter The Void (2009), where it seems like the goal of Gasper Noé is to harm the audience. It's the best depiction of misophonia/hypersensitivity I've ever seen and makes me physically sick. I love it (for many reasons).

Received the new @crobertcargill.bsky.social! Opened it, cracked it and didn't put it down until I was done. Hoping there will be more pieces that will explore this world!

No experimental film has stuck in my head like Sleep Has Her House (2017). It captures the belittling feeling of witnessing nature's violent machinations, taking me back to a memory of camping during a dangerous storm and not knowing moment to moment of what was coming next.

What's the cover art that got you started on the #ttrpg hobby? Here's mine:

My brother had this and it was absolutely fascinating to stumble upon and be exposed to the idea of a organized rules for playing "make believe".

Kurosawa does it again with Cloud (2024). The initial scare really got me. Didn't expect the flow from paranoid character drama to an action thriller, but it's done extremely well. The attention to light, framing and blocking put his work high up in my favourites list every time. #filmsky

Let's round out the top five with Sunshine (2007). Slight stretch to the bottle requirements as there is a second spaceship for a bit... but I still count it.

aaaaand my fourth favourite. The Night Eats the World (2018). Loved the boredom and monotony presented as a part of a zombie apocalypse.

Now that I'm thinking about them again, my third favourite bottle movie has popped into my head and it's time to watch it again. Pontypool (2008). Really need to find a better copy...
May 26, 2025 at 3:40 AM
Well I can't type apparently... To clarify I'm looking for more bottle movies specifically. Second post, so have my second favourite bottle movie! Rear Window (1954)
May 26, 2025 at 3:27 AM
Cube (1997) is my favourite "bottle" movie (a film taking place entirely in one location). Looking for some more fun, weird, terrifying, etc. films. What's everyone else's favourites? #filmsky

Show a moment from TV/Film that broke your heart.

The Red Suitcase (2023) has some issues but its delivery, the cinematography, pacing and especially the acting are on point, making it an impactful political/spiritual horror. A simple look and natural reactions at just the right time had me in tears.
