Last night I turned off my dishwasher because I worry that something will flood while I'm asleep. This morning my bathroom flooded while I was asleep. The universe is having a laugh at my expense.

I finished 57 books last year. I could post a list but that's a lot of effort for a very small audience.

Reading Wind and Truth in a week burned me out for a couple days. I can't stop thinking about my favorite characters and how their stories wrap up.

I'm feeling a little whiplash going from the age of madness and codex alera to the storm line archive. Very different vibes.

This is my "Fantasy I missed or haven't kept up with" reading list. I have already crossed a few series off the list.

Here is my reading list for the year so far. I am planning on 3-4 more books by the end of December. Currently reading "The Great Hunt" by Robert Jordan and I started "Wind and Truth" today.

I need to start posting my reading like I was doing on the other site. Consistency is not my strong point.

Anyway, I already finished one book, "Fool Moon" by Jim Butcher. It's been a fun series so far and I am already a few chapters into the 3rd book.

I also want to get back into playing and practice the guitar on a regular basis. I'd hate to look back in 10-20 years and see my instruments as something that I gave up on.

While my book count might be lower I do plan on filling in the gaps with more short stories and non fiction short form writing.

I am very happy I decided to hit a book a week last year though. I caught up on quite a few books that were sitting on my shelves and spent time discovering new authors and series.

New year, new reading goal. I'm going to shoot for a fewer number of books and increase my time spent on other hobbies. Thinking I might do 40 books instead of 52.
January 7, 2024 at 8:54 PM
52 books finished. Honestly I'm pretty thrilled that I was able rekindle my interest in reading this year. I hope I can keep it up in the years to come. There are so many amazing books I want to experience!!!

Muppet Christmas Carol is an all time great film. I love it.

I finished reading "Traitors Blade" by Sebastien De Castell last night. I'm happy that despite my fall reading slump I'm almost finished with my goal. 51/52

I hate when I join the space military at 75 and they dump my consciousness into a hot photosynthesizing cat person body and I have lots of sloppy sex with all of the other old people in their new green cat person bodies

When you're a grownup you can use Christmas cookies as sandwich bread. It's legal and no one can stop you.

The Rollings Stones just aren't my jam. I have given them plenty of shots and I'm disappointed every time. Their peers were just working and recording at a much better level.
