Jeannette Rankin, a Republican from Montana, became the first woman ever elected to Congress. She served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1917 to 1919 and again from 1941 to 1942. A pacifist, she was the only lawmaker to vote against U.S. entry into both world wars.

How cool is this? The Rutgers History Dept's undergraduate administrator and advisor, the multi-talented Dr. Kenny Linden, presented on the Mongol Empire and Video Games last week. #Rutgers
On Saturday gave a talk trying to put together some thoughts on the Mongol Empire in video games. In short, Mongols are portrayed in ways that justify their modern oppression by imperial and colonial powers: as the ultimate other who are wandering backward tribes without any modern history.
