My heart breaks for my hometown of Vancouver, and my Filipino community worldwide, as we are processing the grief from the horrific tragedy that happened on the weekend. 💔 1/

This had to be said! I’m actively in debates with people about this right now. We have no right to judge how others are embodying their own activism. Access is key and safety is a priority. Not all of us have the privilege of that. For some of us, just existing is a form of resistance. ✊🏽
Seriously friends, 99% of my cases are things nobody ever hears about. 99% of my activism isn't shit I post about.

Assuming people only do what you see on social media isn't just inaccurate, it's actively harmful.

This is hilarious! A much-needed laugh! Or maybe a new strategy??

Everyone must read this story of what is going on at our borders! This is scary and could happen to anyone! Detained and shackled while on holiday - what a nightmare this is now our reality.
Her advice to anyone planning to travel to the US is simply not to go. “First, because of the danger of what could happen to you. And, secondly, do you really want to give your money to this country right now?”

Also, Canada handed her over to the US.
I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre
Graphic artist Rebecca Burke was on the trip of a lifetime. But as she tried to leave the US she was stopped, interrogated and branded an illegal alien by ICE. Now back home, she tells others thinking...

Was just in the Little Tokyo area in Los Angeles this past week. This news about JANM makes me so heartened to read. The internment of Japanese Americans was not long ago. This community understands oppression and why resistance is so important. We must learn from history.
Can we get more of this? “The Japanese American National Museum will ‘scrub nothing,’ Fujioka said, and instead will highlight the importance of DEI.

“Our community is based on diversity, equity is guaranteed to us in the Constitution, and inclusion is what we believe in,” Fujioka said.

Yes, this conversation is VERY timely indeed.
Our 2022 interview with DEI coach Farzana Nayani remains timely today: "People believe polarisation is the answer to large world problems. To make a difference we need people who are steadfast in their way of thinking, and people who reach across to bridge those major differences" bit.ly/4jANVhO
