Yeah I'd much rather prefer those get visibly flagged somehow and leave the choice of moderation to the user. Although they might not be allowed to do that due to regulation.

I think it's largely due to the fact that societies are slow to fully adopt new technologies and discover unintended use cases. Even if LLMs wouldn't improve any further, I'm sure we'd still discover new use cases in a decade for them. Value from a general purpose technology is a discovery process.
