You need to resign, stat. I am an avid liberal and I promise to do everything I can going forward to make sure you never get elected again. Voting no was a complete betrayal of your fellow Democratic congressmen and women and our country.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I just read through the report and think it’s fantastic!

I feel this deep in my soul.

I'm more interested in what the other farmers think. Journalists (and I am one, as well as a farmer), unfortunately, get a lot of things wrong when it comes to agriculture.

They consider themselves "farmers" because they own the land. They think they can do it better than whoever was leasing their land before (or managing the land for them). They make big investments and immediately fail. Owning the land does not a farmer make. But they don't realize that. 2/2

Right. But what I mean, is they have never actually been in charge of farming production. They just been on the peripheral as a land owner. So what was her actual 'street cred' as a farmer herself? I've seen this happen many times with people with farm land, and non-farming money.1/2

I would love to understand more of the backstory here. From my experience in agriculture, people like this are "farmers" in the sense they have an ownership interest in agricultural land through their family. But haven't ACTUALLY farmed themselves. Just collected checks.

Was thinking that myself a few hours ago!

Is that what we were hoping for? I have a feeling not. But here we are. The baby's done been tossed. 4/4

But what about the NGOs that had a large portion of their budget from USAID? Many will simply cease to exist. Those that remain will be the ones with large, private $$ pockets. So, we are looking at much more dominance from privately funded NGOs, with their own agendas - think the Gates Foundation.

As Geoff, the author, said to me: "I've always wanted review and reform. But now the baby has been thrown out with the bathwater by folk who had no idea there was a baby."

Also, who fills the "vacuum" left by USAID pulling out. You'll hear Geoff talk about China. No big surprise there.2/4
