even if this is a ‘myth’, it tells some truths of our situation: parties take megadonations of corpos & the rich, beg/bargain/grift the people for even more money, then install candidates, leaders & policies that serve them—no regard for the people’s wishes. Feel like our votes don’t count? …yeah

Barry recorded and performed some bangers. Trying to Get the Feeling, This One’s For You, Even Now—all those albums have well known classics and underappreciated gems—and you’re right, this guy could command a stage and an audience, whatever one thinks about the musical style.

mixed feelings on going to great lengths to serve retirement benefits to the generations that have been dismantling them for their kids & grandkids; but SSA protects so many more people than these bad-faith olds, and the work is too important to abandon over such grievances—thank you for all you do!

customary for the grifter-in-chief to add many hallucinatory/insane points for each that’s even lightly grounded in reality

sets up a wide phase space for future lies; ensures opps spend too much time & energy tilting at windmills & trying to pull the audience back to planet earth

As usual a scrap of accuracy (the program is financially upside-down) is being pressed into service of an evil argument (“the program is bad”).

The program is crucial, *and* it needs fixed, with proper funding. Not destroyed, not privatized. PROPERLY FUNDED. Guess who doesn’t want to fund it?

In case we ever wonder why all the 70-90yr olds still in Congress, just holding the line to prevent Gen X and younger from creating real social welfare reform and saving the health & retirement systems for future generations.

The bummer of course is that the money we pay is sent to current retirees even as its being received. Once this social support ladder is pulled up, it’s gone. It’s never made long-term demographic sense for this to be a pay-as-you-go system, but the people benefitting from it had no will to reform.

Thanks for spreading the word, Mar🐪!

We needn’t associate tomorrow’s economic protest with any particular group or leader, however.

This is a decentralized action—of the People and for the People—ALL of us!

Banger job ‘saving’ all those babies so we can ideate and try to commit suicide later on at massively inflated rates vs. the kept population. Feeling so loved and cherished rn. 🙄

But they will definitely cost money to implement and cause even more expensive problems down the line.

This excites the private sector, which loves promising to solve expensive problems of its own making. How? Why, with expensive solutions of course!

Time for Appalachians to quit backing these 21st-century Robber Barons, and remember the answer to that old question: Whose Side Are You On?

Tbh there might be a good self-conscious use of the meme with a twist like “There’s one wolf […]” that ends up making the point by way of contrasting itself with the expected joke? Just a thought
