I was 13 when Gregory Mcdonald wrote the first Fletch novel, 24 when his character was made into a movie (starring Chevy Chase), and now I am re-discovering him at a much older age (we don't need the specifics here ...). I am retrospectively sad that Mcdonald ended at 7 novels. #PulpFicton

I'm not sure if I ever told you the story of the "Cut-and-Shoot" family that lived across from the Brazoria County Fairgrounds....
Watching a factory stock race in Central Texas and was just reminded of my favorite small Texas town name.

Cut and Shoot, Texas.

Honestly make about as much sense as what they currently do on plate tracks - IMO :-)
Had a dream last night that they disqualified the entire Daytona 500 field and crowned Nyck de Vries the winner instead

I repeat - wrecking is not racing...
Wrecking is not racing. I continue to believe #NASCAR plate races should be exhibition races only.

I've seen Joey Logano do this way too many times.

It's a little unsettling to hear Kevin Harvick say nice things about Joey Logano. #NASCAR #Daytona500

That is true. The upside is they rarely crash on plate tracks under caution. (I am not a fan of this style of racing.)
NASCAR loves a damn caution lap.

I renew my objection to #NASCAR counting yellow flag laps at the manufactured stage breaks.
February 17, 2025 at 12:08 AM
And that "PR" lap is one reason I think this. Give a point for something actually indicative of strength - like Laps in the Top Five - or better yet, stop changing things just for the sake of changing things.
Of all the things #NASCAR could have decided to award a point, fastest lap is one of the least meaningful. #Daytona500

#Daytona500 attendees, that is ...
It wld seem Mother Nature shares my opinion of one of the attendees - which comes as no surprise since that person is doing his best to kill her. #EarthIsCrying

Jacob's Ladder, the Adrian Lynne / Tim Robbins version, is one of my favorite movies. I shld go to bed, but I suspect it might not be for a while.

Watching #Daytona500 Practice (recorded earlier), and it just doesn't seem right to see that big old frontstretch NOT covered with @supercrosslive.bsky.social dirt. (We'll take care of that in less than a month, tho.

Grotesquely wealthy people (for some unknown reason) would like to take away whatever benefits you have. And yet there is no possible way they can even spend the money they already have.

This is one of the two biggest battles we face: the Ultra-Conservative war on education, (as well as the unwillingness of our 'bought-and-paid-for' government to tax the ultra rich).
I need say no more...
