As the masked figure climbs onto a speeder, his sleeve rides up to reveal a burn scar in the same place Ben had.

He rides off into the distance, as twin suns slowly sink below the horizon.

The masked figure, who has a distorted voice, agrees to take him. The man pays in imperial credits (implying he’s a First Order officer or sympathizer on the run).

The pilot shoots him dead where he sits. As he leaves, he tosses a credit to the barkeep. "For the mess."

Cue the end credits.

Surprise end credit scene.

Open on a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

A paranoid man enters a cantina and sits down at a table opposite a masked figure. He says he is looking for a pilot to get him out of the star system.

"Ben," Rey's voice is gentle, almost pleading. He looks up and sees her on Falcon.

He gives her a sad smile and says, "I know."

An explosion breaks the moment, sending the Falcon flying out of a cloud of fire. The command ship breaks in half. The rest of the fleet is also exploding.

Rey looks up after hugging Finn, and Ben is gone. A call comes through the com that the First Order fleet has lost power. Poe calls Finn over the com, telling them to get out of there.

Ben is back at the control panel. Obviously, he's the one causing the shutdown of the fleet.

The blast doors open to reveal Rey standing alone, among the dead bodies of the Knights of Ren.

They stare at each other.

As Ben is about to say something, Finn yells Rey's name and runs to hug her. There's an explosion that sends them all stumbling.

Finn and Jannah's team are cuffing the First Order officers, as their army of defectors grows.

Thousands of ships [like in the original film] have arrived to join the fight, including Zorii.

Ben uses the force to open the blast doors.

Rose's voice comes over Poe's com. Tells him that they’re getting reports that people are fighting First Order ships and stormtroopers are abandoning their posts and changing sides.

Poe “Here?”

Rose “Everywhere.”

Rey faces off with the Knights of Ren.

Finn, Jannah, and their rag-tag group of troopers charge another First Order squad ten times their size.

Ben arrives at the blast doors (that Rey closed), panicked and sweaty.

Poe closes his eyes, his lone ship surrounded by FO ships.

The stormtrooper who shot the officer takes off her helmet and tells Jannah, “They said you were dead.” Jannah grins and they embrace. The other stormtroopers lower their weapons.

The reunion is interrupted by the Knights of Ren.

Finn, Rey, and Jannah's group is caught by an officer and a squad of troopers.

The officer addresses Finn as FN 2187. Finn corrects him, “My name is Finn.”

Jannah addresses the troopers. “I was TZ-1719, we were like you all.” The officer shouts, “Silence.” And is shot by a stormtrooper.

Meanwhile, Ben runs into Hux.

“Ren.”

“Ben.”

“Traitor.”

“Got me.”

“I knew it was you.”

“No, you didn’t.”

Ben punches Hux, knocking him unconscious, and walks away.

The battle starts [similar to the original]. Poe flies around, mostly distracting the ships, while Finn, Rey, and Jannah land a troop transport on the command ship. They lead a team of former troopers through a hatch, opened by BB8 for them to get inside.

Ben is sneaking around a First Order ship, like Rey did in TFA.

“You’re alive!" Rey's voice startles Ben, nearly causing him to fall.

Ben dangles by his fingers. “Kinda busy.”

He closes their connection, causing Rey to stumble into Poe, who asks if she's ready. She smiles as she nods.

Ben opens his eyes to find Rey lying beside him. Grief-stricken, he lifts her, muttering, “Not for me.”

He carries her back to her ship. BB-8 shrieks at him.

"Calm down, she's fine."
He places her in the cockpit and punches some buttons. BB-8 beeps as the ship takes off.

Kylo falls to his knees and says, “Light or dark, we’re all just killers in the end. Even you.” Rey grabs his hand, visibly wracked with guilt. He smiles at her, holding his hand, and dies.

Rey frantically utters apologies and excuses. Finally, she closes her eyes and tries to heal him.
