I’d argue that the only truly fleshed out characters are the Creature and Elizabeth and I don’t think that’s an accident. Especially given the split POV narrative.

It’s written by a woman, but even if it wasn’t I don’t think my hat excludes it from ring read a feminist. Like Fight Club, demonstrating how corrosive toxic masculinity us to men as well as women is a tenant of feminism.

In fact, thematicly the Creature is most comfortable with feminine coded behaviors and a woman. Likewise violence is repeatedly linked to masculinity, and Victor in particular.

Victor punishes the Creature for very same behavior, in the same way his own father did to him.

This film isn’t subtle.

That’s the thing. From what I’ve seen in her video they don’t give her any referrals. Just say sorry. Even the Catholic Church gives referrals. I’ve volunteered with them before for toys for tots.
