Trump is more ruthless and vindictive than he was before, and more contemptuous of the law, but he is ALSO—this is key—even lazier and more stupid than he was before. And he is promising to do things that will be hard and boring for him.
politics hasn’t ended and hard things are hard. i am NOT saying that there are “guardrails” or that trump will be stopped by some other force. i am saying that everything can be a battle if his opponents choose to make it one.

I’m fairly certain most of my hometown friends voted for the monster rapist. They are giving and polite and nice and charitable IRL. And I’m having a rough time at the thought of being around them. Working on building a new and different community. This place is helping.
