It's that time of the year. I've agonized over this list long enough.

I've put together a list of my personal favorite reads of 2025, with six "best of" and six honorable mentions. Hopefully you'll discover a few new favorites as well! 💙📚

Guess I can give you a hint👀

🪐🔹

Might it be for a @solarisbooks.bsky.social title?
I’ll be having the honor of announcing something publishing related this coming Wednesday & I hope you’re ready for it 👀

If you told younger me, who was shy about sharing her bookish ravings, that one day she’d be helping her favorite authors share news abt their books, she might not believe it.

Book review: REMOTE CONTROL is hard to pin down, especially without giving spoilers. It explores so many things from loss to identity to the power burning in Sankofka's body.

The story may not go where you expect it, but I highly recommend giving this novella a try. 💙📚

Up at FanFiAddict, I'm talking about the latest ALIEN novel from @titanbooks.bsky.social, @shaunhamill.bsky.social's PERFECT ORGANISMS. Hamill finds his own unique hook into the familiar, giving us a strong character-first ALIEN book.

My thoughts:

MoT is a solid fantasy adventure debut with fluid prose, plenty of humor, & quite a few surprise twists along the way. The dual timelines can be a bit jarring in the early going, but you soon see how they weave themselves together. Recommended to fans of Michael J. Sullivan

Kill All Wizards (The Barbaric Ledgers #1) by @jedediahberry.bsky.social

“The crème de la crème of novellas, Kill All Wizards mixes sarky humor, succulent prose, and resplendent action to tell one of the best stories I’ve ever laid eyes on.”

The Book of Fallen Leaves by @astamaki.bsky.social is a masterfully composed, brutally enthralling fantasy epic with notes of Martin, Clavell, and Inoue. Tamaki's debut is already a 2026 Book of the Year contender in my eyes. Bookmark it.
