I particularly liked this segment @juliettekayyem.bsky.social did with @amnanawaz.bsky.social helping explain the situation in LA. That "no city is built for a municipal water system to deliver assistance during what's essentially a wildland fire." www.pbs.org/newshour/sho...
A look at Southern California's wildfire response and resources

"By plucking out random applications, Sanders leaves voters with a distorted picture of the majority of the job titles held by H-1B visa holders.

The statement contains an element of truth but ignores critical facts that would give a different impression. We rate it Mostly False."

This is what happens when you feed social media straight lines.

Well, you look like a freak already, so you might as well?

Thank you for your testimony.

For some reason, your mention of Big Bird makes me think of "Big Bird in China" that I used to watch as a child. I think because of the little girl who's in it. Not sure why.

Longer term, I assume real estate is marginally cheaper in LA? Also assume SF is still a major tech epicenter. Probably also a conversation to have with your partner.

Will also matter how important "being in the office" is with this new role. Might be a good time to become a remote tech nomad :) .

Yay! Congrats.

Depending on your appetite for change, the move sounds like it could be awesome. From visits, I do give LA an edge over SF in terms of food.

For me personally, I'd probably want to make one change at a time - start a new job and get that under control before moving on top of it.

Well, you'd be able to reach a pretty lucrative market with followers who have lots of disposable income :) .

Reminded of the bit in Gilmore Girls where Lorelei gets so drunk she starts filming her audition for America's Next Top Model. "I'm not here to make friends, I want to win!"
