this is damning. indeed, I should retire from Social Networks.

what is striking to me is the use of "indeed" showing up. indeed, it is puzzling.

I remember some bus sign with less than 1.5x this daily amount that should go to NHS.

but it must be some accounting thing that I can’t parse.

— isn’t? his and Dorothy Parker’s are impressive in that they were ok… and offer a bookend to two faves: Hepburn and Monroe.

— I guess i’m missing stuff while quasi-off L’internets :

1. is “wait and see” the new “you never know”, which was the new “let’s pray”

2. scientific method has discontinuities and results-without-efforts?

“well, that’s just your theory”

really, I can't keep track of what the hell is going on in the USA, and maintaining some awareness causes extensive brain contortions.

still, from afar, since the money goes to the same source, it was good to do this… and explain Kimmel as the reason. not that I care for his show.

this is fascinating to me. 1&2: French Resistance. 3&4 Japanese Isolationism.

the Herring: what about the Swish and regional connection?

8&10 are just crimes against one self.

great minds at work, which is reassuring that the world's businessmen acumen is solidly entrenched in such layered (reverse?) Ponzi scheme.

(a correction is that the $5K is $50K and up, and the expansion on details started with "Oh sweet summer child, it is so so much worse"... )

I lost Radiohead a while ago... « Amnesiac », i think, which I loved and was a soundtrack to a Tokyo visit when it came out and got it while there.

« Hail to the Thief » had much to like, but...

happy that this new release makes it awesome: really love it, and played it 3 times today already.

finally, it seems safe to say that this (left photo) state-of-things is now on hold for the next 4 weeks. no issues are expected.

what remains, in other matters, is more like the other (right photo)— wanting to grab it from the desk nearby.

idle thoughts during long commutes:

« Unknown Pleasures » vs « Closer ».

for me, it is always « Closer », but I have been coming around (after 40+ years) to see why
« U.P. » is preferred for many, if not the majority.

I mean, they are wrong, but I am understanding a bit more.

I never expect to develop any kind of sense of being hungry while visiting museums, but this really makes me think I will never develop such.

on the other hand, maybe think of how many Joy Division bootlegs used this artwork, and would title it « Atrocity Exhibition »

I offer my favourite:

(English : " a ripened blackberry murmurs to the wall ")

this one is more about the sounds than becoming redundant. like the classic ' A green worm is going toward a green glass ' → ' Le ver vert va vers la verre verte. '
