I will always have a soft spot in my heart for characters who believe they're hard to love finding people who cherish all of their sharp edges as much as they do their secret soft squishy parts too.

I'm not upset about tanking, I just wish that there wasn't so much pressure on perfect execution as a dps because if a tank gets a damage down it's nbd but a dps's damage down can be the difference between a clear and 0.2% wipe

Ah well, time to go die to the blowjob brothers

Also I fucking said that I cleared on tank and was still adjusting to melee spots and also it's only week 2 why are we expecting perfection already

I want to take in a melee dps for savage but if I'm gonna be getting snarked at for things that aren't my fault then I'm just gonna tank because at least I can take a couple of hits and not die

I wish I knew lmao. Give me the confidence of pf randoms and maybe I'll finally stop being anxious about going into pf alone lol

Note to self: never mention in a pf that you play other jobs ever, that you have other roles geared up for whenever you want/need to switch it up, or expect pf people to be capable of basic logic like "This player couldn't be here if they didn't meet the ilvl requirement set by the pf"

But each time he's worked even harder to get back to where he was before because he wants to be someone who is dependable and capable and a source of strength for his friends. But even at his lowest, he never stopped being deserving of hope and love, even if most wouldn't give him either.

for him: losing most of the Scions at the banquet, losing Haurchefant who he loved dearly, watching the Scions drop at the end of Stormblood, finding and then losing G'raha and then finding him again, then then everything in Ultima Thule all set him back into his old habits for a bit.
January 12, 2026 at 11:14 PM
When he met the Scions and XIV's story began, he very slowly started relenting from these habits as he eventually realised that he was safe again and that he didn't need to be so harsh all the time, that he didn't have to push people or memories away anymore. Recovery hasn't been linear

Especially in the beginning, he pushed people away, his insults struck right where he'd identified someone's insecurities, and he played into his reputation of being an asshole because it helped him survive while he was alone and unsure of where to go or what to do next.

Oh and Ra'shan's reaction to the trauma he went through. Ra'shan is not a perfect little uwu victim who draws unicorns and rainbows to recover. Ra'shan became quite harsh, jaded and sometimes even outright cruel in the aftermath of the flames and the destruction of his home.

Ra'shan also lives with intermittent chronic pain from the burns he suffered before the start of his story. They've healed as much as they ever will now and look like old scars but sometimes they still cause him pain because of heightened sensitivity around them.

it puts on his own aether and soul. Outside of battle, he is very much blind on his left side and as his creator and someone whose vision "only" needs glasses for correction, I want to be sure I represent that blindness and its affects properly and I know fandom can be weird about disabilities.
January 12, 2026 at 11:05 PM
Over the course of his story, Ra'shan ends up blind in his left eye. It's not total darkness and colour and big movements can still be seen from that eye but that's about it. He can use his aether to "see" others' aether despite his blindness but he only uses it in battle because of how much strain
