I loved my first time participating in my library’s “blind date with a book.”
For Valentine’s Day, they wrapped books in brown paper and twine and only pasted the barcode on it. I unwrapped my book at home and read a collection of poetry about love. I was in high school and it made my day :)

Representation is important. I see authors who are queer and Filipino and trans or nonbinary and know that I can do this too. I’m thankful for authors who open up about how trad pub is harder on authors from marginalized communities…just, thank you for writing and sharing your experiences

If your copy editor doesn’t use a style sheet, they’re not performing a copy edit. If your copy editor doesn’t give you the style sheet back with your edits, they aren’t providing the full scope of a copy edit.
