Thinking about the time I was privileged to witness his Welcome to Country speech at MIFF. An absolute legend. I miss him.
Uncle Jack Charles. A Boon Wurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung, Woiwurrung and Taungurung man died at the age of 79. I’ve great respect for this giant of post-colonial Australia. I wanted to honour him, red eyed, weary, strategic in his amiability and powerful in his colourful, abundantly free LOVE.
