Sorry to read of the death of Jean Marsh, a sharp and striking actress, who pretty much cornered the market when it came to playing high fantasy wicked queen types in the cinema of my '80s childhood.

Remembering the time my Dad - seeing my sister's Lipgloss cassette single on the family hi-fi's tape deck - proudly thought he'd raised a 13 YO Philip Glass fan.

Bought these on a whim; enjoying how much they look like tiny brains.
A hand holds a plastic package of Bodrum brand Sugared Chickpeas. An individual sugared chickpea sits in my palm. Its sugary coating is white and wiggly in pattern, which - in combination with the fissure dividing the legume into two hemispheres - makes it look a bit like a tiny human brain.
