not only the investors
they are going to have a wild ass meeting at Skyseed GmbH on monday

„So… why is our mail inbox filled with people screaming about waffles at us?“

worth noting, but doesn’t answer the full moderation question: the bsky mushrooms are checked for clearly illegal content on all lexicons, not only the app.bsky ones.
iirc paul confirmed this in a thread some time ago.

for almost all the pieces of the stack there is a third party run alternative and even alternative implementations. the most centralised part currently is still the identity ledger, the plc. alternatives are in the works and the bsky run one is being transferred to a neutral swiss entity:
Creating an Independent Public Ledger of Credentials (PLC) Directory Organization | Bluesky
The Bluesky Social app is built on an open network protocol that refers to each user by a unique Decentralized Identifier, or DID (a W3C standard). The most popular supported DID method was developed ...

everything needed is open source, can be combined in steps to reach more functionality and can be run for reasonable prices. data storage with a complete network backfill is ofc still a hassle, but not strictly needed. but the big selling point is to interoperate, instead of building echo chambers.

@protopro.blue is currently in closed beta. and yeah, you could replicate pretty much any social network. there are multiple TikTok style apps, a twitch clone, blog publications, social coding and the list goes on. more interesting: what can we build that you couldnt outside of at?

der post im screenshot wurde mit kontext atproto und bsky, nicht ai, abgesetzt. das ist ein allgemeines themenübergreifendes problem das ich in letzter zeit beobachte.

the screenshotted post is still online btw

take a scroll through the list of accounts followed by @atproto.guide. mostly projects, but also some devs in there.

the mask is already slipping. and it’s not only about the tech itself anymore.

mate, this is an unrelated joke from a day before the discourse started. besides your bonkers claims, you are literally doing the waffles bit.

that doesn’t sound like a healthy and useful habit

this one is my favorite. what’s your preferred way of finding calm and recentering yourself?

well that’s rude for no good reason.
enjoy your ingroup signaling and consider using stackable moderation options like blocklists, labelers or tools like @orbitallaser.bsky.social. 👋

as someone researching decentralized systems and building on the protocol, i keep a very close watch and have done so for a long time. i honestly don’t agree with everything bsky does, but most of it. lots of nuances here. please accept that we can come to different conclusions.
