Sorry, #CBC but you missed a big one on this: youtu.be/Uq26B_ErFrI?...
Our electoral system exaggerates regional differences.

Hey Edmonton and area friends! Are you tired of government that creates one-sided policy (cough cough *refusing to negotiate class sizes)? Come on down to Dewey's and see an alternative in action. #abpoli

In our municipal elections today, we could only choose ONE person. What if we could choose several? Or rank them? #abpoli

There's more choice at a Stampede food truck then in our democracy. See the comments to learn why.

338canada.com is projecting a party with 42% support is going to get 100% of the power. Are you okay with that, #Alberta?

Divisive discourse isn't a bug of our current system, it's a feature. PR systems score better with regard to governmental longevity, voter participation, economic performance, and stability in polarized societies.

PR or similar would reduce some of the destabilizing and ‘unfair’ results thrown up by plurality/majority electoral systems. ‘Seat bonuses’ for the larger parties are minimized, and smaller parties can have their voice heard in the legislature. #Ableg

Citizens' Assemblies in Canada keep on finding that we need to update the way we elect politicians. Let's get this done, and make #Alberta's democracy more representative.

We're heading for a federal election wherein, once again, #Albertan diversity will not be represented.

PR facilitates minority parties’ access to representation. This can be crucial to creating stability in polarized societies and has benefits for decision making in established democracies. #canpoli #abpoli

This doesn't have to be the way, #abpoli. Let's be leaders in creating a more representative and effective democracy.

Our antiquated voting system over-represents a few political parties at the cost of the many. Is it any wonder they choose to keep it around over the wishes of their constituents?
