The disgust shown by Rep. Ramirez should be the norm when talking to these people. They do not deserve respect.

“I don’t agree with trans people in society.”

“OK, well trans people do exist in society, but I respect your right to your beliefs so much I’m willing to move you out of society for as long as you hold those beliefs. What? You thought we should’ve moved them out? Why? These aren’t THEIR beliefs.”

We need to start to understand that “respecting people’s beliefs” means giving the people holding anti-society beliefs what they want, which is separation from society. Respect their agency that they want what they say they want. Give them credit for the natural logical effect of their belief.
