I need Democrats to start hating Elon Musk even 50% as hard as you do daily. Democrats are so feckless there's so many points you could attack Elon on -- being an illegal immigrant, being a ketamine addict, being an unelected bureaucrat manically tearing out the copper wire of the US Govt. etc. etc.

good night! Sleep well moot (mutual), I might take you up on that discord offer perhaps

That's a very smart decision especially in light of the 2024 US election. I thought I'd be on the frontline to push back against the BS spewed on that site but I'm just one girl I can't take all that toxicity and I'd rather have a sanctuary so bye Twitter lmfao

Shoutouts to Ice Cap Zone, Mushroom Hill Zone and Sky Sanctuary my beloveds. I really don't have much more to critique or say outside of what I already said. Lava Reef Zone sucks but the rest of the game(s) was great

Most of the levels in S3&K alongside being vibrant and great set pieces also have really well crafted level design but there are some levels that were really frustrating such as the HORRIBLE Marble Garden Zone and Lava Reef Zone but otherwise the level design was good.

Sonic CD had open-ended levels which at most times felt like a bunch of half-baked ambitious ideas strewn together in an artistically surreal mishmash but S3&K uses it's open-endedness thoughtfully and meticulously.

It may be more open-ended taking design philosophy from CD but it uses the open-endedness to expand upon the set pieces and blend the game into a consistent and inhabited world that explores the many diverse habitats of Sonic's planet through a chase down against Dr. Robotnik.

In this way, S3&K is a culmination of all aspects of Classic Sonic directly or indirectly. I do slightly prefer the level design of Sonic 2 to S3&K due to my preference for linear level design in 2D Platformers but there are aspects which S3&K objectively do better and improve from Sonic 2 on.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is a very interesting game due to it's technical functionality and because of how it takes Sonic CD and expands upon it. Despite not having any narrative continuation or references to those events the level design is outwardly expansive upon the open-ended level design set by CD.

However, I don't regret it after all because Sonic 3 by itself has a different final boss and/or a different boss within the cut-off section giving it some distinct design compared to S3&K.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Finished: Jan 22nd 2025) - Directed by; Hirokazu Yasuhara: (low 8/10)

It took me about a week to get done with this game because I had accidentally played the first half (Sonic 3) twice since I did not understand the lock-on functionality.

It's a game which can be hellish at times with it's wildly inconsistent level design and yet it's many artistic charms and distinct experimentation upon the 2D Sonic formula saves itself from being a game I dislike or deemed as "bad". It also introduced Amy and Metal Sonic two GOATs so it's good!

Though sometimes -- actually, most of the time, CD falls short of it's ambitious goals it doesn't stop to be self-loathing it seeks to be experimental upon the groundwork laid before it from start to finish. As well, CD's OST is phenomenal and I too value that highly. Many bangers throughout

Objectively Sonic 2 is the better designed game with higher quality and consistency. As well, S3&K is an improvement atop the groundwork of Sonic 2 so Sonic CD is maybe the third best across the four mainline classic era titles however I, once more, value ambition and CD is nothing if not ambitious

There are some pretty fun levels like Quartz Quadrant and some amazing iconic levels like Stardust Speedway but then it has hellish level design in Wacky Workbench and Metallic Madness. It's incredibly inconsistent however CD's flaws don't detract it from being my personal favorite classic era title

Sonic CD (Finished: Jan 17th 2025) - Directed by; Naoto Ohshima: (high 7/10)

The aesthetics and locales of this game are very surreal, very artistic and I love it. However, despite the great art direction I think the level design is much more iffy and even frustrating at times.
