That’s a reasonable amount of work to saddle myself with on the busiest week of my day job. That’s not inadvisable.

Seriously. When I was fresh out of college, I might have seen a post like that as a chance to get my foot in the door (especially after my advisors pushed so many unpaid internships). Now I just see it as a huge red flag.

That doesn’t make it bad! I’m sure that it deals with certain themes in a way that feels meaningful to plenty of people, or it seems to based on the hype. But the depth of the story would be overshadowed by my brain fixating on the darkest moments. I’m aware enough to step back.
