✨ Day One: First Meeting ✨

Decided to draw a little sketch (in advance) for 'both' meetings, since well - disembodied voice shenanigans, and then the actual meeting.

Faye, the Warrior of Light, wearing a hooded white mage outfit, thinking she spies something. G'raha Tia watches from above, a bit poorly concealed, taunting her along the way to the aethersand and driving her a just a little batty (affectionate). "A compelling viewpoint. It is unyielding wills such as yours that have defined the course of history." Thunk. A shadow detaches itself from the scaffolding above, and a blur of red hits the ground before her with the smug finality of a curtain call. A drop, a flourish, a choice. Faye leaps back. Not dramatically, but just enough that the heel of her boot bumps her staff, and just enough for her hood to slip, just enough to reveal the flick of mauve hair and telltale twitch of ears that scream what fresh hell is this. “…Twelve above,” she mutters barely above a whisper, just loud enough for the Twelve, Cid and Rammbroes to hear. The voice is familiar. The voice is exactly who she thinks it is. Garnet-silk hair. Smugness turned incarnate. A grin that could qualify as a war crime in certain regions. He lands like he practiced the motion in front of a mirror. Probably several mirrors. G’raha Tia. The woodland whisperer. The self-appointed bard of her rage. And he’s smiling. At her. Faye's heart skips - not out of fluster, yet, but out of a bone-deep operatic type of indignation. “So, you return at last,” Rammbroes says with arms crossed and tone dry as the Sagolii. “What, pray tell, has kept you so wholly preoccupied that you could not spare a moment to inform me of your progress or preservation?” G’raha doesn’t miss a beat. “Why, the task you assigned to me, of course. Surely you’ve not forgotten about the aethersand? I passed it along to a most capable courier.” His eyes flick to her again. Bright. Sparkly. Faye huffs slightly. “Greetings, adventurer!” he says as if he is not the reason she trudged through swamps. “Did I not say we would meet again?” “You did,” Faye says with voice flat and a halfhearted withering gaze. “And somehow, you made good on the threat.” He bows and she barely resists the urge to trip him mid-motion. “I believe an introduction is in order. I am G’raha Tia, one of the Students of Baldesion." The flourish is unnecessary. The grin is criminal. The wink - because of course there’s a wink - is unforgivable. “I look forward to joining you on your groundbreaking expedition.” Faye smiles, and it is the kind of smile that precedes a divine judgment. “And I look forward to breaking ground. Specifically, the ground beneath your feet.”

There’s a type of affection born from years of knowing someone so well you can tell what they need from a look. The casual comfort of a hand on your back or fingers patting down a stray hair, flicking your chin in a practiced tease. Knowing what to give and doing it with ease.
